Marchesín was signed by Lanús from Huracán de Tres Arroyos in 2007. He was a non-playing member of the Lanús' squad that won the 2007 Apertura tournament.
On March 1, 2009, Marchesín made his competitive debut in a 2-0 win against Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy. Subsequently, on April 29, 2009, he made his first appearance in an international club competition in a 1-1 draw with Caracas FC. During 2009, Marchesín relegated Mauricio Caranta as Lanús first choice goalkeeper, playing in most of the team's games of the Apertura tournament.
Marchesín was the starting goalkeeper for the U-21 Argentine national team that finished third at the 2009 Toulon Tournament.[1] On August 20, 2010, Marchesín received his first call for the senior national team, for a friendly match against Spain.[2]
